With Resort we have recorded in a series of film images the architecture of two centers for asylum seekers in the north of the Netherlands. We have refrained from judgement: our only aim in making the film is to preserve for posterity the reality of the asylum seekers' center. Making pictures is an activity on a par with collecting data. The data are presented in a neutral manner: they are dry images of asylum seekers who spend most of their time waiting.

Resort has been created as a part of the Dutch Pavilion (NLlounge) at the 8th Architecture Bienale in Venice in 2000. In 2002 we made a film version of the DVD.
